Description
Here is the audio from Sunday, July 4, 2010.
Scripture: Romans 6:15-19 & 7:19-25 and Psalm 37:4
Desire Checkpoints:
·Being addicted to God is not emotionalism
·Discipline was always meant to heal desire, not kill it.
·Beware of the Evil Trinity: the world, the flesh, and the devil.
·Godly desire will NEVER contradict Scripture
·Continually ask God to cleanse your desire and motives
·Some addictions are deeper than others.
Full Circle:
·Moving from Believing in God, but not desiring Him...to Believing in God, and desiring Him with all our hearts.
·Sanctification is living the life of Jesus in 1,000 small choices. We cannot become like Jesus (sanctified) without desire.
·Godly desire full-grown is addiction to God’s heart.
Reflect:
1.What Godly desires do you notice God stirring in you right now?
2.What were you passionate about as a teenager? Are you still passionate about it now? Why/why not?
3.How has desire taken you to the Dark Side? What must be transformed in you to enable you to walk down the right path of desire?
4.What are you willing to do to deepen your desire and addiction to God?
***Pour out your heart to God, journal, tell your story. Embrace your True Addiction.
